mike

Copywriter

Copywriting combines two of Mike’s favorite things: ventriloquism and indoor work.

He gets to be the “voice” that tells the story of every manner of client, which means he’s always learning new things about the organizations that make New England go.

Mike took a roundabout way to becoming a copywriter. After graduating from Rutgers University with a B.A. in political science, he took the Foreign Service entrance exam, absolutely convinced he'd be swanning around Prague in no time.

He got as far as the second round of entry exams before waving good-bye to Prague forever.

The backup plan was journalism. And he spent the next 25-odd years writing and editing for newspapers and magazines and in various dire freelance capacities. He has worked at Psychology Today and Disney’s FamilyFun magazine, and has written biographies for musicians under contract to CBS Records.

His roundabout road took him to Holyoke, a pretty cool place to call home. Just ask him. He’s as passionate an advocate for the Paper City as TSM Design is for Springfield.

And now he’s here. You’ll never see his name in print. But if you read an ad or a poster, an annual report or brochure or Web site, and the copy sounds as though it were written by someone in a nice office and quite happy about that and the kind of stuff he gets to write, chances are, that’s his work.
