With English degree in hand, Nancy began her career stocking toilet paper at a Kmart in Santa Cruz, CA. Stop two on her career path found Nancy in a K-8 parochial school in Columbus, Ohio. She took over the chaotic sixth classroom of a nun who’d suffered a nervous breakdown. In hindsight, it was the skill set she developed in the classroom that prompted Nancy to get an MBA. “Hell, if I can manage 36 pubescent kids in one classroom, I can handle anything B-school and a business career can throw at me.”
Fast forward to 1985. A move to New England and a serendipitous meeting with the owner of a fledgling marketing firm (The Super Market) provided a lifetime of fun for Nancy as an employee, a partner and since 2005, the sole owner of TSM Design.
Nancy is a big picture person. She’s also a good strategic thinker. No matter what the project, the client gets the benefit of what’s going on inside her brain. She cares deeply on doing the right thing—whether it’s for the agency’s clients, the agency’s employees or the community. She’s counted as one of Springfield’s champions. She and her husband moved to the city five years ago.
When she isn’t working, she’s volunteering. She’s served on countless boards and as Board president for the YWCA of Western Massachusetts and the Community Music School of Springfield. Nancy is the recipient of the Women of Distinction Award and the Leadership Institute’s Community Volunteer Award. She received her MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from The Ohio State University.
